Fredericus Theodorus Renard (1778 – c. 1820/1824) was a topographical painter born in Amsterdam, active during the late 18th century and the early 19th century. He specialized in landscapes depicting scenes in and around Amsterdam. Renard is best known for his depictions of the rural outskirts of the city, featuring taverns and farmhouses along tree-lined lanes, often animated by figures and animals that bring these pastoral settings to life.
